The measurements were performed on the 5th November 2015 at 09:30 a.m during cloudy weather conditions. The EMF measurements were performed for the Larnaca Municipal Library and substation “Larnaca Municipal Library” located at Leonida Kioupi Street, Larnaca. The following figures provide pictures of the area where EMF measurements were recorded.

Limiting exposure values have been provided by the ICNIRP recommendations and are guidelines to many countries and organizations. The exposure limits at 50 Hz are tabulated in the following table according to the limits given by ICNIRP.

The substation is rated at a nominal power of 500 KVA. At the time when the measurements were performed the substation load was recorded as:

From the resultant load of all three phases as shown above we note that the load is 21.80 % of the nominal load (500 KVA Transformer).It must therefore be noted that during the summer or in periods of peak load this will directly affect and produce an increase to the electric and magnetic fields.
The maximum obtained values from the investigation are represented below and compared to the ICNIRP specified limits of General Public and Occupational standards. The highest magnetic field measurement is observed at the left side of the substation and has a value of 0.290 μT.
More specifically, this measurement is located 0 m away from the substation left side, 4 meters away from the starting point.
