Dr. Maria Hadjipanayi (UCY) of TESTARE project with her team are co-organizing, with Dr. Tom Aernouts and Dr. Anurag Krishna from Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (imec), the #COMPER24 - symposium "Towards Commercialization of Perovskite Photovoltaics: Scalability, Stability, and Circularity", in the context of the "Materials for Sustainable Development Conference" which will be held at Barcelona, Spain on the 4th - 8th of March 2024.
The topical focus of the Conference will be the PSCs which have the potential to play a key role as future photovoltaics in the renewable generation of electricity from sunlight. For this vision to become true, currently prevailing limitations regarding the stability and scalability of PSCs need to be overcome to render the technology commercially viable. Since the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of single junction devices on a small area (∼0.1 cm2) reaches close to Shockley–Queisser limit, there is now a focus on the development of larger area perovskite solar modules. Scaling up the technology requires materials and processes that provide high homogeneity over a large area, batch-to-batch reproducibility, production yield, and low cost, which can ultimately enable a process transfer from laboratories to commercial fabrication lines.
The #COMPER24 symposium in which TESTARE team is involved, will be focused on a range of topics related to perovskite solar cells (PSCs), such as materials and processes for large area deposition, new module design and interconnection strategies, module characterization with advanced techniques, stability testing (accelerated indoor and outdoor) and failure analysis, and the life cycle analysis and recycling of perovskite PV.
In this symposium, various aspects of the industrialization of perovskite PV will be discussed.
Abstract submission is now open. Please, register below for the Conference before submitting an abstract.
When: Monday 4 March 2024 – Friday 8 March 2024 - Barcelona, Spain.
Organisers: Dr Maria Hadjipanayi (UCY), Dr Tom Aernouts (imec), and Dr Anurag Krishna (imec).

You are cordially invited to the “EDDIE Final Event and Large-Scale Partnership on the Digitalisation of the Energy System”, which will take place both online and physically at the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union on 14 December 2023 at 9.00 – 17.00 CET.
The objective of the event is to identify and assess skills gaps, needs, high-impact policies, and regulations in the Energy Sector, for energy transition through digitalization. The event will focus on highlighting some of the most significant skills gaps, the necessary curricula changes, and the most appropriate regulatory and policy measures required for the adaptation of technologies in the emerging digital era of the energy sector. Furthermore, it aims to pave the way towards building a large-scale partnership under the Pact for Skills, benefiting from the Sectorial Skills Strategy that will be developed by the EDDIE project.
When: 14 December 2023 🕛 from 9:00 – 17:00 CET /10:00 – 18:00 CY time
Register here to attend online by videoconference [please choose the “Online” type of participation].

The PV Technology Laboratory of FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy of the University of Cyprus hosts the Online Workshop “UAV-based decision-making and modular approach to support PV plant diagnosis using EL, RGB, IRT imagery, correlated with electrical data analysis and advanced reporting and geovisualization (AID4PV)” on the 29th of November 2023 at 10:00 - 12:00 EET (Nicosia, CY Time).
This workshop will provide technical information in the field of operation, inspection and diagnosis of PV plants. Emphasis will be given to the diagnosis of PV failures using the UAV platform developed under the AID4PV consortium (TSK Information Technologies Division, PV Technology Laboratory, UCY and Circuits, Sensors and Renewable Energy Sources (CSRES) Laboratory & Research Team of Spatial Informatics (SenseLab), Technical University of Crete, TUC).
The workshop is intended for local and international partners, researchers and stakeholders in the PV energy sector. The participants will get the required technical background and in-field knowledge of the work carried out in the AID4PV project.
